Baker III, currently senior partner of the Baker Botts law firm and senior counselor for the Carlyle Group, as well as the former US Secretary of State under George Bush Sr., will co-chair the Iraq Study Group, together with former Congressman Lee Hamilton, who co-chaired the '9-11 Commission.'
Baker, a high-level Bush Family factotum, is often sent by the Bush Cabal to smooth-talk or arm-twist when the need arises.
It should be noted that Baker was sent by President George W. Bush in 2004 to talk creditor nations into 'forgiving' Iraq's debts. At the same time, Baker's employer The Carlyle Group was trying to collect $27 billion for Kuwait in a global 'war reparations' shake-down.
It was also James Baker who convinced the Supreme Court that Bush would suffer 'irreparable harm' if the Florida ballots were re-counted. "
